Tsolov ready for Imola Formula 1 test
"I hope to secure a seat in Formula 1."
Formula 2 championship leader Nikola Tsolov is scheduled to test a Racing Bulls Formula 1 car at Imola later this month as rumors about a potential promotion in 2027 increase. The 19-year-old Bulgarian, who has clinched six victories in his debut Formula 2 season, is anticipated to drive last year's car on August 27. This test should assist Tsolov in acquiring the necessary Super Licence points to take part in Formula 1 Friday practice sessions.
"It's a tough question," he mentioned to Servus TV when inquired about his F1 prospects. "I hope to land a seat in Formula 1, but unfortunately, it's not that straightforward."
"I'm approaching it one race at a time because I know that the better I perform now, the higher my chances are of moving up."
"I genuinely believe I deserve an opportunity, and I hope to get it."
Tsolov has been associated with a Racing Bulls race seat for 2027, though Liam Lawson’s improving performance adds complexity to the situation. Lawson and Arvid Lindblad are also expected to participate at Imola as Racing Bulls utilizes its final filming day of the season.
