Gasly hopes that Alpine will benefit from technical innovations.

Pierre Gasly has high hopes for the upcoming races, primarily because the Alpine F1 team has finally prepared a range of technical innovations for the Zandvoort stage.

Pierre Gasly: "The mood is great, I’m looking forward to the second half of the season, although it’s nice that I was able to rest and recharge well over the past couple of weeks. The upcoming weekend promises to be interesting also because we brought a number of technical innovations to Zandvoort.

I’ve been waiting for this for a long time, as we had a tough time at several previous stages. But let’s hope that with the upgraded car we can once again compete for 5th place in the Constructors' Championship. I also hope that Yuki Tsunoda will help us outpace the Racing Bulls, as he is not in the best shape right now! (laughs)

No, of course, I’m glad he’s back on the grid, but he will have a tough time behind the wheel of this car, especially since the weekend program in Zandvoort includes a sprint. But I must admit that this team makes a very good impression; at several previous stages, their car was capable of excellent pace, which allowed them to consistently earn points.

But I hope that the technical innovations will also allow us to show good pace, although I don’t expect that we will be able to fully unlock their potential already in Zandvoort – rather, this will happen in two or three races."

When Pierre was asked what he thinks about Max Verstappen's decision, his former teammate, to extend his contract with Red Bull Racing until 2030, the Alpine driver responded: "I’m not surprised and I think his manager, Raymond Vermeulen, did an excellent job, so Max will get a nice pay raise! (laughs)

I want to say that this is also one way to solve such issues, and I think it’s very good news for the entire Formula 1 that Max is staying in the championship, as there is an opinion that he is the best driver of our generation."
