Pérez: Starting from the pit lane was the right decision.
Only Sergio Perez from the Cadillac drivers made it to the finish in the Dutch Grand Prix, while Valtteri Bottas's car encountered hydraulic system issues with 10 laps to go.
Sergio Perez (15th): "Starting from the pit lane was the right decision, and we made good progress during the race. The pace was confident, and although I got stuck behind Valtteri's car on the first lap, we managed to overtake him thanks to the strategy of an earlier pit stop.
Unfortunately, we were a bit unlucky when the virtual safety car was deployed, and we missed the opportunity to move up to a higher position.
Nevertheless, we managed to finish ahead of Williams, so there are positive moments as well. We always give our maximum, and today we showed a decent pace and were able to move forward."
Valtteri Bottas (did not finish): "Unfortunately, we started having problems with the hydraulic system today, which caused the rear wing to stop working. Sergio had similar issues in the previous days, and now this misfortune happened to us with just a few laps to go.
It's something to regret, but I'm confident the team will be able to resolve the issue. As for the race overall, the first segment went quite well; we were closely behind Williams, but what happened in the second segment needs to be thoroughly analyzed as we prepare for the race in Monza."
