IndyCar: Mick Schumacher is satisfied with the results of the race in Washington.

      Last weekend, the capital of the USA hosted a race for the first time, officially called the Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, which can be interpreted as the "Washington Grand Prix of Freedom." As expected, the event was quite spectacular; it is enough to say that the track was laid out on the streets of Washington right near the White House. The pre-race show was impressive in scale and pomp, but the race itself did not disappoint either. By the way, it was personally started by Donald Trump.

      There were many events during the 147 laps, including accidents of varying severity, and this time even the leader of the American series, four-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou, found himself among the unfortunate. Usually, the Spanish driver for Chip Ganassi Racing performs very confidently, but last Sunday, he struggled to make an impact.

      Kyle Kirkwood, racing for Andretti Global, won yesterday's race, with Danish driver Christian Lundgaard from McLaren, whom we remember from Formula 2, taking second place, while Will Power, the New Zealand teammate of the winner, climbed to the third step of the podium. Just missing out on the top three was Marcus Ericsson, the Swedish driver for Andretti, but we also want to highlight another former Formula 1 driver.

      This time, Mick Schumacher deserves praise: he started from the last row because his car from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing had its engine replaced. In this regard, Mick was penalized, but he had a very good race, fighting his way forward and ultimately finishing in a respectable 11th place. By the way, he finished just behind Romain Grosjean, another veteran of Formula 1.

      "What a race! In the end, we finished in 11th place, even though we started from 24th position due to the engine replacement penalty. The team worked excellently throughout the weekend. Now we will prepare for the last two stages of the season!" Mick shared on his social media pages.

      It is worth adding that before the start of the Washington weekend, while speaking with the press, he hinted that he knows which team he will be racing for next year, and this will be announced when the time comes.

      As noted by the Indy Star newspaper, it seems that the 27-year-old German driver is confident that he will definitely have a contract with one of the teams, even if no agreements have been signed yet. Six IndyCar teams have not yet announced their lineups for the next season, but there are many rumors that Meyer Shank Racing is interested in Mick Schumacher's services, especially since Felix Rosenqvist is moving from there to Arrow McLaren.
