Alpine will not contest Kolapinto's penalties.
Alpine reacted to the statement from sponsor Franco Colapinto criticizing the FIA for the penalties imposed on the Argentine driver and the subsequent response from the federation. The team from Enstone released a statement acknowledging that the penalties were in accordance with the regulations and were applied equally to all drivers, although they described them as too harsh.
"As a team, we are working closely with the governing body on track behavior rules to ensure fair and spectacular competition and, importantly, safety," the statement from Alpine said. "We fully trust the FIA and the stewards in matters of enforcing these rules and applying sporting sanctions during the race.
We believe that the penalties for violations related to yellow flags in the early laps of the Dutch Grand Prix were indeed too harsh. However, we acknowledge that they were in line with the regulatory requirements and were applied equally to all drivers.
For us, this is also an opportunity to analyze what happened and draw the appropriate conclusions."
