Ferrari may prolong Hamilton's stay, while Bearman's departure becomes a possibility.

This would pose a major issue

Lewis Hamilton might extend his stay at Ferrari beyond 2027, potentially hindering Oliver Bearman's path to Maranello and ultimately enabling the young Briton to exit the Ferrari system entirely. Emily Madic from Auto Motor und Sport indicates that indications are increasingly leaning towards Ferrari retaining Hamilton, with Monza being a likely location for an announcement. Hamilton's current deal includes the option to continue until 2027, but speculation is rising that Ferrari might keep the 41-year-old on until 2028. This would create a major problem for Bearman. The Haas driver is still part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and has been viewed as a prospective Ferrari race driver following his remarkable stand-in performance for the Scuderia in 2024. However, Auto Motor und Sport suggests that Bearman is expected to remain affiliated with Ferrari only until the end of 2027. "My goal continues to be to become a Ferrari driver one day," he recently stated in F1’s Beyond The Grid. "But I don't wish to spend three, four, or five years waiting for a seat to open up because there are no assurances, and you might end up wasting your best years." "If that means it’s not with Ferrari because they cannot provide me that opportunity, then so be it." Should Ferrari not promote him for 2028, he would be free to leave Haas and Ferrari’s development program and seek opportunities elsewhere. Meanwhile, Ferrari is gearing up for a particularly meaningful home weekend at Monza. The SF-26 will display a special livery inspired by 1996, and Schumacher’s personal logo is also expected to appear on Hamilton and Charles Leclerc’s overalls. Additionally, Ferrari is anticipated to unveil its latest ADUO engine upgrade at Monza, with reports estimating an increase of about 15 horsepower from the combustion engine.
