      Police are looking into the theft of approximately 300 meters of cable from Madring, just two weeks ahead of the Formula 1 event at the new Madrid circuit. As reported by ABC, the cabling was taken in the early hours of Sunday from an area adjacent to the circuit. The National Police of Spain are conducting the investigation, with no arrests made thus far.

      This incident is not anticipated to pose a risk to the Spanish GP scheduled for September 13, as the circuit construction is finished, and the remaining efforts are primarily focused on setting up temporary facilities, grandstands, and finalizing event preparations. This theft follows closely on the heels of Madring hosting two days of Formula 3 testing, serving as a significant operational trial for the upcoming F1 event.

      FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, while speaking to AS at the Rally of Paraguay, acknowledged that the new venue has needed particularly attentive oversight during its approval phase. "Madring is an adventure," he stated. "We’re monitoring the situation closely because the homologation process has been challenging, but feedback has been positive, and I’ll definitely be there." He added, "Spain is a very emotional and passionate country, and I’m confident it will be a fantastic event."
