The National Police is investigating the theft of cable from the power supply system generators at the new racetrack in Madrid, which is set to host the Spanish Grand Prix for the first time in less than two weeks. According to the newspaper Marca, citing police information, the missing cable was discovered at the MadRing racetrack on Sunday morning in one of the tunnels. Another publication, ABC, reports that about 300 meters of cable have been stolen. There are no further details at this time, nor is there information on whether a circle of suspects has been established, if any arrests have been made, or if law enforcement has any leads. The racing weekend at MadRing is scheduled for September 11-13, and last week the first Formula 3 tests were already conducted at the racetrack.
