Lewis Hamilton acquired a rare Ferrari F40.

      The Ferrari F40 sports cars were produced in Maranello from 1987 to 1996, and a total of 1,311 units of this model in various modifications were released during that time. The design was developed by the famous coachbuilding firm Pininfarina, and the F40 entered the history of the Italian company as the last project that the company undertook with the personal blessing of Enzo Ferrari.

      Decades have passed since then, and yesterday Lewis Hamilton announced that his personal collection of rare cars has been enriched by such a sports car, and Ferrari specialists are already working on its restoration.

      On his social media pages, the Scuderia driver posted a selection of photos with this car and accompanied it with the following comment:

      "My own F40. This is the car of my dreams, and as far as I remember, it became that a long time ago. As a child, I dreamed of this car, and last year, when I joined Ferrari, I tried to find one from day one in Maranello – it means so much to me.

      These cars are works of art, and they are incredibly rare, so when I finally found the F40, covered in dust because it had been sitting in a garage for over 30 years, I realized that I had to take it for myself.

      But first, it was delivered to Maranello, where Ferrari engineers and mechanics, true masters of their craft, worked for several weeks to bring it back to life. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this project. Now my dream has truly come true, and I can't wait to share more news with you..."

      On behalf of the seven-time world champion, the search for such a Ferrari was carried out by Azimut AHE, a company specializing in investments in historic automotive technology, and it is said that when this 1991 F40 was discovered, its odometer read exactly the same number of kilometers as it did on the day it left the gates of the factory in Maranello.

      Under the hood of the car is a 2.9-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers, producing 478 hp, and thanks to the extensive use of composite materials, its weight does not exceed 1,254 kg. This is partly why it can accelerate to 326 km/h and was recognized as the fastest road car in the world in 1987.
