Red Bull chief Laurent Mekies has essentially indicated that Isack Hadjar is unlikely to participate in next weekend's Madrid Grand Prix. L’Equipe previously reported that the injured French driver is expected to miss a third straight race after already skipping Zandvoort and Monza. In an interview with Canal Plus, Mekies refrained from completely dismissing the possibility of Madrid, but acknowledged that the timeframe for Hadjar’s wrist recovery is likely too short. "Madrid is in a few days, so it’s difficult," he stated. "We’ll conduct another assessment with him, but it's probably hard to consider Madrid." He emphasized that Red Bull is taking "absolutely no risks" with Hadjar’s recovery process. "A full recovery is the priority, and we won’t compromise that," he noted. "Our focus is making sure Isack returns to the car fully recovered, ensuring that his participation is fully justified and doesn’t risk his future." Mekies recognized that Hadjar is understandably disappointed about missing Monza. "He can’t drive today, so I can’t say he’s happy because he certainly isn’t," he commented. "He had a great start to the season – he’s very young and improves each time he’s in the car, so it’s crucial he gets back behind the wheel when he’s at 100 percent."
