Colapinto's pressure is increasing for Jack Doohan.

On Tuesday, Jack Doohan maintained that he is not feeling any additional pressure, despite being inundated with inquiries regarding Franco Colapinto. With the announcement that Colapinto's sponsor, Mercado Libre, a South American e-commerce platform, will feature on the team’s 2025 livery, speculation about rookie Doohan's future in the sport is growing.

"Is that meant to be a question?" Doohan responded wittily when asked about the Colapinto rumors. "I don’t really see that as a question."

He made this statement amid a series of similar questions from other journalists, where the 22-year-old clarified whether he feels any added pressure: "No. I was informed that he is just a reserve driver."

Later, a press officer from Alpine interjected, stating, "I believe we have already addressed the Franco issues. Let’s move on to another topic."

Doohan’s teammate, Pierre Gasly, was also asked whether he thinks Doohan should be concerned about his racing position.

"Honestly, I don’t have a comment on that," the French driver asserted. "I know Jack, I want him to perform at his best; I know he’s a good person and a very capable driver. Getting into F1 is never easy, and there’s no need to complicate things further."

Gasly was also questioned about his expectations for Alpine’s 2025 car as they approach the final season of the current regulations cycle.

"If it were up to me," he said, "I would allocate all available funds to the 2026 car. But I’m not in charge of the budget. What’s clear is that finishing in eighth, ninth, or tenth places doesn’t motivate me."

The 29-year-old added, "The advantage for Jack is that as we near the end of the regulations, our technical feedback won’t impact next year’s car. In that sense, it eases some pressure off him, allowing him to focus solely on driving."
