Liam Lawson: I don't care what Zach Brown says.

During the Melbourne race weekend, McLaren CEO Zach Brown called Red Bull Racing's decision to choose Max Verstappen's team-mate "strange" when comparing the performance of Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson. In Shanghai, the New Zealand driver was asked to comment on Brown's words.

Liam Lawson: "Honestly, I don't care what Zach says. I don't think I've ever talked to him at all. And I haven't been reading social media in the last two weeks.

It's important to have a good weekend, and that's why we came here. I don't think the results will spiral down after one race. We all have high expectations. The weekend in Melbourne turned out to be worse than my expectations, so now it's important to perform well.

A racer always wants to get back behind the wheel as soon as possible after a bad weekend. This is just my case. It's good that we have a lot of races to do at the beginning of the season. After China, we will have a week-long break, and then a series will be built.

Considering that I don't have a lot of experience working with our car yet, it's good that there are a lot of races ahead. This will help me to better understand its features and feel more comfortable driving."
