Alex Albon: I'm learning a lot from Carlos.

Alex Albon finished fifth in Australia, which is his best result ever for Williams. His new team-mate, Carlos Sainz, did not manage to complete a single full lap in the race and withdrew from the race, but Alex assures that cooperation with the experienced Spaniard is very useful for him.

Alex Albon: "The fifth result didn't surprise me that much, except that we were ahead of both Ferrari cars in qualifying. But in general, we considered ourselves the best in the middle group of teams, although I naturally look at it differently: in my opinion, Racing Bulls and Alpine turned out to be closer to us than we would like.

But in general, I'm really more comfortable driving this year, the behavior of the car has become noticeably better, although the downforce level has not increased so significantly. But we manage to use it more effectively, so I'm already piloting more confidently.

To be honest, the car's behavior in the race is slightly better than in qualifying – I think we paid more attention to working on the race pace. For example, during the second practice session in Melbourne, we did a very good job with a long series of laps, but this is only in relation to the other teams in the middle of the peloton, and we are still noticeably behind the leaders.

It's just a pity that due to the difficult conditions in which the race took place at Albert Park, we weren't able to fully exploit the strengths of our car, but the forecast promises more stable weather in China, so let's see how we can perform here.

My new team-mate, Carlos Sainz, pushes me both on and off the track, as he has very high expectations for the team and its continued progress. I am definitely very interested in working with a driver who has such a wealth of experience working with Ferrari. He understands in which areas the team needs to improve. I have the impression that I also learn a lot from Carlos, and I enjoy working with him.

The Shanghai circuit is very different from the Melbourne one, and it's very interesting to see how things go this weekend, because there are a lot of long turns on this track, and the tires here work with higher loads. I think the Williams car will pass a good test here."
