Charles Leclair: The collision was not Lewis' fault.

Charles Leclair and Lewis Hamilton finished fifth and sixth at the Chinese Grand Prix. At the start, the Ferrari drivers bumped into each other, as a result of which Charles had a broken front wing. After the finish, Monegasque stated that he did not blame his partner for what had happened.

Charles Leclair (5th): "It's not Lewis' fault at all. I moved inside the turn to position the car better before the third turn, and Lewis didn't know I was there. I didn't expect Lewis to come back and occupy the apex outside. After all, what happened was a racing incident.

This is not the first or the last time this has happened, but it's a pity that it happened between two red cars. It's good that it didn't have any bad consequences for either of us, although I lost a few points of downforce.

We discussed with the team the possibility of replacing the wing, but we felt that because of it I would lose even more time, about 12 seconds, and then I would not be able to recoup on the track, since it is possible to overtake here only in the 14th corner, and we had difficulties with straight line speed.

Of course, there was the potential to perform better, but we tried to maximize the result in such conditions, and I think we did well. But it's a pity that the car was damaged.

George Russell was very fast at the exit of the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth corners. I was faster for most of the lap, but in those three turns he was probably five tenths faster. That was enough to pull away from me in the straight, so I couldn't overtake him in turn fourteen."

Lewis Hamilton (6th): "I am glad that we tried different solutions, although I had problems with speed during the race.

Our car was fast enough in the sprint, but before qualifying we made adjustments to the settings to make the car even better, but in reality we made it worse. And it got even worse in the race, which unfortunately meant I couldn't keep up with the guys in front. But thanks to this, we have learned a lot.

It takes a long time to make a pit stop on this track, so I had to play back a lot of the gap, and the rivals were still driving fast towards the finish line. Max drove the laps at the same pace as me, even though I had fresher tires. It's not good enough."
