Jonathan Wheatley, team principal: "There are a few positive things to say after the race. Despite the poor start, Gabriel gained good speed during the race, and together with Nico, they matched the pace of the lower part of the middle group of teams.
Nico drove the race confidently again, and given the difficulties of overtaking at Suzuka, as well as the fact that he was stuck in the DRS train behind Jack Duane, he fought until the very end.
I want to mention the excellent teamwork this weekend, in particular, some great pit stops. This is a good start to a series of three races in a row, and I want to thank the racing team and all the staff at the base for their support and contributions."
Nico Hulkenberg (16th): "The car looked good today, I wanted to unleash its potential more, but difficulties with overtaking in Suzuka determined the course of the race. I spent most of my time in traffic, which didn't allow me to make any real progress and made the race boring. It's a little frustrating.
We have a lot to work on in terms of the speed and efficiency of the car, and today's race highlighted that once again. The season is just beginning, and every weekend we continue to learn."
Gabriel Bortoleto (19th): "And although I dreamed of achieving more, I leave Suzuka with a feeling of deep satisfaction. I've learned a lot in every race since Melbourne, and I'm in better control of the situation with each stage.
Unfortunately, I didn't start well today and ended up at the tail end of the race. It was not easy to get ahead, because it is difficult to overtake in Suzuka, but I will use this experience in the next stage in Bahrain."
