Elbon: Preparation for 2026 remains a priority
In 2025, Alex Elbon's team-mate was Carlos Sainz, one of the most experienced and fastest drivers in the championship, but the Spaniard did not immediately find an approach to the Williams car, although this was quite expected. In any case, Elbon is clearly more stable at the beginning of the season, and this adds even more confidence to his abilities.
Alex Albon: "I'm not going to lie, it has a positive effect on my mood, although in fact I don't think my approach to piloting has changed significantly in recent years. To be honest, the main factor is the car that our team has created: the FW47 works very efficiently, and this is the foundation that gives me the confidence that I can earn points in almost every race.
At the same time, I understand that when you regularly finish in the top ten, you get on TV more often, and they begin to perceive you a little differently. However, in any case, I am very happy with the way I am driving this year.
The interesting thing is this: when you start the season well, you usually try to stay at this level. At the same time, the team is upgrading the car, and everyone hopes that we can have a good end to the championship. In this case, we could talk about staying in 5th place in the Constructors' Championship.
However, this year the situation is somewhat different. We say that 5th place in the team competition is good, but the priority remains to prepare for 2026. In general, now is a period of some uncertainty, and I think we are continuing to evaluate what is happening, choosing what else we can do for the sake of results this year.
It is quite obvious that the rivals will continue to upgrade their equipment and introduce some new products - the question is how much progress this will allow them to achieve, and how it will affect our team. Personally, I still think that the most important thing is to prepare for 2026, and it will be the right thing for our team. I have no doubt that James Voules has exactly the same mindset.
Although I'm having a lot of fun racing this season, I have no doubt that we can do more, and next year I want to be on the podium."
