Hamilton: I'm not going to apologize for being a fighter.

During the Miami race, Lewis Hamilton made no secret of his displeasure with Ferrari's strategists, who couldn't decide for several laps whether or not to ask Charles Leclair, who was on tougher tires, to let his teammate pass.

The phrases Luce said in radio conversations, "This is not good teamwork" and "Do you want me to skip Sainz now?" immediately led to speculation that there was dissatisfaction between the seven-time world champion and the team.

After talking with the head of the Scuderia, Frederick Wasser, after the finish, Hamilton went out to the press and tried to stop the incipient storm.

Lewis Hamilton: "Overall, I enjoyed the race. Yes, we weren't as fast as we wanted to be this weekend, but I think I did a good job on this stage. You can't tell from the result, but I started twelfth on a track that is very difficult to overtake, and the gaps were minimal.

After switching to Medium tires, it seemed to me that the car came to life. I was very optimistic at that moment, I saw the Mercedes ahead and I thought I had a chance for sixth place. But I lost too much time in those laps behind Charles, even though I was clearly faster at the time. I don't think the decision was made fast enough, so I said to the team, "Let's do it!"

I have no problems with either the team or Charles. I just think we could have done a better job in that episode. However, the main thing we need to improve is the car, because ultimately we are fighting for seventh and eighth places.

Yes, my teammate and I are fighting for a position, but it would be better if we did what we used to do with Valtteri Bottas – we switched positions if someone was faster, and if after that he couldn't overtake the opponent, then we returned the position to his teammate.

Now it doesn't matter if we could have overtaken Mercedes or not, because we just don't have enough speed. That's probably why I'm disappointed. But we will keep our heads high and keep attacking.

After the race, Frederick came into my room. I just put my hand on his shoulder and said, "Buddy, relax! Don't be so sensitive!" I could have said worse things on the radio. In the past, we've all heard what others have said in radio conversations.

Some of my words were sarcasm. But you also understand that we are under a lot of pressure behind the wheel. In the heat of the fight, you'll never hear anything cute from a racer.

But there was no anger in my words. It was just, "Come on, make a decision soon! You're sitting on a chair, you have all the information in front of your eyes, decide already."

I didn't swear, I wasn't disrespectful or anything like that. At least, I don't think so. I was just saying, "Guys, hurry up. I want to win."

I still have fire in me, and I'm not going to apologize for being a fighter. I'm not going to apologize for wanting to win. I know that everyone in the team wants to win, and I sincerely believe that when we solve the problems with the car, we will return to the fight with Mercedes and Red Bull, but it will not happen quickly.

In the next race, we will try something different and continue to work on the processes. We are all looking forward to the moment when I can fight for the podium. It's going to be great."
