The world of motorsport remembers Niki Lauda

Niki Lauda, the legendary Austrian and three-time world champion, passed away on May 20, 2019, and today the racing community pays tribute to one of the true heroes of motorsport.

"It's been six years, but you always remain in our hearts. Nicky, we miss you," these words appeared on the pages of Mercedes–AMG F1 on social networks along with several archive photos. Lauda worked in this team in the last years of his life, and it was he who played a key role in Lewis Hamilton becoming a Mercedes driver in 2013.

A similar message appeared on the pages of McLaren: "We remember the great Niki Lauda, who passed away on this day six years ago..."

Lauda played for this team at the end of his career, from 1982 to 1985, and won his third title behind the wheel of her car - it was in 1984. Of course, on McLaren's social media pages, we also see a 40-year–old photo of Nicky holding up another winning trophy - he won 25 races during his Formula 1 career.

He also won twice in Monaco, so today the ACM Auto Club, the promoter of this classic Grand Prix, publishes its selection of photos and the following comment: "On this day, we remember Niki Lauda, the two-time winner of the Monaco Grand Prix, in a special way."
