They went out: You have to do better in Barcelona than in Monaco.
Alpine is optimistic about the Spanish Grand Prix. The team's drivers believe that the Barcelona track should be suitable for the A525 car, so there will be more chances to earn points than in Monaco.
Pierre Gasly: "We are going to Barcelona for the final stage of the series. The goal of the team is to perform much better than in Monaco. Last weekend, our level of competitiveness came as a surprise - we expected to look better.
We qualified too far behind, so it was very difficult to score points. My race ended after the incident with Yuki Tsunoda, but even before that, the race was difficult. The team will regroup, so let's see what result we can achieve in Spain.
Hopefully the Barcelona circuit will suit our car better. A new technical directive will come into force this weekend, so there may be some changes in the balance of power.
As for the track, I've always enjoyed racing in Barcelona. We've had some good results in the past, so I'm optimistic about the weekend.
I will be watching the Champions League final on TV on Saturday evening. I think we're in for a fantastic match, and I'll be cheering for PSG to bring the cup home!"
Franco Colapinto: "It was a difficult weekend for the team in Monaco. For various reasons, the car lacked pace and we were too far behind at the start on a track where it is almost impossible to overtake. The mandatory two pit stops led to different strategies, and I was able to win back a few spots, but 13th position turned out to be the maximum.
I am looking forward to the stage in Spain, which completes the series. The country speaks Spanish, and there will be a lot of Argentine fans here, so it's going to be a special Grand Prix for me. Besides, it was my birthday this week, so it was great to get some rest and gain strength.
We hope for a more successful weekend in Barcelona on a track that should suit our car better. Compared to Monaco, the track is more traditional, so it's important to feel comfortable behind the wheel as quickly as possible and achieve a good result in qualifying and in the race."
