Canadian Grand Prix: DRS Zones and Track Changes

Before the start of the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, the FIA confirmed the location of the DRS zones on the Montreal circuit and the changes compared to last year.

There are three DRS zones on the highway. The measuring point of the interval between the cars of the first zone is located 15 meters after the 5th turn. The activation point is 95 meters after the 7th.

The second and third DRS zones are connected by a common detection point – 110 meters after the 9th turn. The first activation point is 155 meters before the 12th turn, the second is 70 meters after the 14th.

On the highway, the efficiency of the drainage system has been improved in turns 2, 8, 10 and 13 due to small grooves in the curb.

The track surface was sanded at turn 12 in front of the DRS line to eliminate the bump. The safety zone behind the apex of turns 8 and 9 has been redesigned, and an asphalt path has been created.

The white line in turns 3 and 8 has been moved 1.5 meters closer to the wall. The concrete wall on the right side of the tenth turn has been extended.
