Oliver Berman: The weekend promises to be incredibly vibrant.
The American Haas F1 team considers the British stage of the championship their home race, as one of their bases is located in Banbury, near Silverstone, and most of their staff work there. Moreover, starting this season, the team has a British driver, Oliver Berman...
Oliver Berman: "The upcoming weekend promises to be incredibly bright, and it will be my first home race as an official Formula 1 driver. Last year, the British Grand Prix became a special event for me, as that’s when my contract with Haas was announced, and I participated in the first practice session.
But what this first full race weekend at Silverstone will be like, I can only imagine for now. I felt what support from British fans is like during the February F1 75 Live anniversary show, and since then I’ve been looking forward to the home round of the season.
Additionally, my brother Thomas will be racing in Formula 4, so this will be the first time we participate in races on the same weekend. It will be a very important moment for me and for our entire family.
Silverstone is among my top five favorite circuits in the championship calendar because it’s where F1 cars are made for such tracks, and the races there are always thrilling, with the constant threat of rain!”
Esteban Ocon: "Silverstone is the British home of Formula 1, and our team’s base is very close to the circuit, so it’s a home track for our team, which makes the upcoming weekend special. Every year, we feel the warm support of British fans, and that’s very nice.
This track has a very rich history, with many high-speed corners, and racing there is very fun. As always, the weather during the weekend can become a serious factor, and opportunities to succeed may open up for us. I hope we will fight for high positions and have a good weekend."
Ayo Komatsu, team principal: “The British Grand Prix is a home event for many of us, and I’m already looking forward to it. The fans at Silverstone are fantastic, the track is very challenging, and overall, the upcoming weekend should be excellent.
Moreover, our team has a young British driver, and for Oli, this will be his first home Grand Prix, which will make this event unique – in general, we have many reasons to be happy.
Speaking about the championship situation, the competition has become very fierce, and it’s very important for us to achieve good results, aiming for both drivers to finish in the top ten.”
