Komatsu: Our drivers should not collide.

The Haas team did not score any points at the British Grand Prix, although in the final laps Oliver Berman attempted to attack George Russell for tenth place, but without success. Esteban Ocon finished thirteenth after a collision with his teammate. After the race at Silverstone, Haas dropped to ninth place in the Constructors' Championship.

Oliver Berman (11th): "It was a tough race. We switched to slick tires in the early laps, but now we realize that was the wrong decision given the approaching rain. I lost a lot of time during the race.

At one point, my car spun after contact, but after all that, I fought for points and finished eleventh, which is disappointing. We were fast this weekend, so it's a pity it ended that way.

Conditions were difficult, there was only one dry line on the track, so I couldn’t overtake Russell in the final laps. On the positive side, the car was fast, I was happy with the balance and the progress we made."

Esteban Ocon (13th): "A very tough race. At the start, I was squeezed between two cars. As soon as I saw that, I thought a collision was possible, so I immediately eased off, but there was little space for three cars in that corner. I’m glad everyone is okay, and fortunately my car was not damaged.

Later, we made the right strategic decisions, but we didn’t pit for a new set of intermediate tires. Because of that, we missed out on a better result, although that’s not usual for me.

Regarding the incident with Oliver, it’s a shame it happened. We both deserved more today. We deserved points considering our starting positions, so we will analyze everything to improve."

Team Principal Ayo Komatsu: "A collision between our drivers is the last thing that should happen. I reviewed camera footage from their cars, spoke with both of them, and concluded that it was a racing incident.

If we look at how they ended up together on the track, we see that the pit stop timing was correct – we called the car ahead into the pits first. However, Oliver then spun out in a high-speed corner and ended up behind Esteban when he returned to the track after the pit stop.

Oliver’s tires were better warmed-up, so he attempted to overtake, but such a situation should never occur. When they have different strategies or speeds, and we ask them to swap positions, they act as true team players. They don’t argue and immediately do their jobs. It was a racing incident, but we must ensure it doesn’t happen again."
