Hamilton: I didn't feel any difference on the simulator.

When asked about the results of the upgraded suspension tests conducted by Ferrari at Mugello during the press conference in Spa, Lewis Hamilton objected to the framing of the question.

Lewis Hamilton: "We didn't conduct any testing; actually, it was a filming day, so those ten or fourteen laps were mainly for filming purposes. And the car behaved exactly as it did before, like a week prior.

It's too early to judge what the SF-25 is now capable of, and we will only start testing this suspension tomorrow. I am confident that we will figure out how to set it up to get the maximum out of the car. I didn't feel any difference on the simulator, but I have no doubt that by working on different circuits, we will understand the advantage of the new suspension.

However, I consider it positive that when we arrived for the filming day, we saw that the team brought new components to Mugello, indicating that the car’s updates are ongoing. Back in Bahrain, we received an improved chassis, but the significant updates on the car only appeared in Austria after a fairly long break.

Meanwhile, other teams are implementing small innovations every weekend – as Red Bull or Mercedes often do. But I was simply glad to see that the team still puts in great effort – changes are happening, there are many updates, but it will take some time before we see the results of this work.

Of course, during the break between races, I spent some time at the team’s base in Maranello, including a couple of days this week. Naturally, we analyzed our performance at the previous round in Silverstone. I had many meetings with engineers, with Loic Serra, who is responsible for chassis development, with heads of various team departments, but also with top management – John Elkan, Benedetto Vigné, and Frédéric Vasseur.

We discussed the progress of the engine development for 2026, talked about the suspension that will be installed on the car next year, and also addressed the difficulties I’ve been experiencing while driving the SF-25, as after several races I prepared a detailed report for the team. During this break, I sent the team a couple more documents highlighting issues I would like to draw attention to.

Some problems are systemic, and I believe certain structural changes are necessary to achieve better results. The second document was directly related to the car, focusing on the difficulties I face during driving. Some qualities of the car should be preserved for next year, but others need to be changed.

For the first time, we are actively working on issues related to the 2026 car, so the work is extensive, and the team is putting in a lot of effort. We also devoted attention to preparing for the upcoming weekend."
