Aksel Cruz – Chief Operating Officer of Williams

Williams announced management changes. Axel Cruz has replaced Frederic Bruso as the team's Operations Director.

Axel Cruz brings extensive experience in Formula 1. He spent fifteen years as Operations Director at Sauber, and previously worked at BMW and in the early 2000s as an engine engineer, helping Williams to finish second in the Constructors' Championship. Axel will begin work on September 1 and will work alongside Bruso until the end of the year.

In addition, Williams announced the promotion of the team's chief designer, Matt Harman, to Technical Director for chassis development.

Team Principal James Vowles: "I am pleased to welcome Axel to Williams Racing. We continue to invest in personnel, technology, and infrastructure necessary to achieve our goal – returning to the top.

Axel is another talent who has joined us. He will continue the work begun by Frederic to elevate the team to championship level.

I also thank Frederic for everything he has done for us, and we wish him all the best after his decision to return home to Canada."

Axel Cruz: "I am excited to join Williams Racing and look forward to starting work. Williams is an iconic Formula 1 team with huge ambitions, and I can't wait to begin working with everyone in Grove to achieve success on track.

As a young engineer, I witnessed firsthand the professionalism and enthusiasm of the team when we finished second in the Constructors' Championship. There is still much to do, but our goal is to finish first."
