Ferrari is investigating Leclerc's loss of pace.

Charles Leclerc started from pole in Hungary and led confidently, but after the second pit stop, he began to complain about problems with the car and finished only fourth.

After the race, Mercedes' George Russell suggested that the loss of speed was caused by Ferrari's decision to increase tire pressure to limit wear on the control marker and avoid disqualification, but team principal Frederik Vasseur stated that he did not yet have an answer – there were no visible reasons.

Frederik Vasseur: "In the first 40 laps of the race, we controlled the situation. The first stint was very good, the second became a little more difficult, but we could handle it, and the last lap was a real disaster.

By the end of the race, the car was very difficult to control; it lost stability. We don't know exactly what happened, and we will investigate to see if anything in the chassis broke.

At some point, I thought Charles wouldn’t be able to finish, and we would be lucky if he scored points with a fourth place. Honestly, it’s very frustrating – for the first time this season, we started from pole, easily completed the first two stints, and suddenly lost pace on the third.

On the first lap of the final stint, he lost about a second. Charles immediately asked us if we had made a mistake with the front wing when adjusting it during the pit stop. From there, the problems grew like a snowball. Between the 38th and 43rd laps, we were losing at least eight-tenths per lap."
