Mekis: The team's priority is to restore Tsunode's speed.
Yuki Tsunoda has not scored points in seven consecutive races. The lack of results has already sparked talks that the Japanese driver might be replaced after the summer break, but Red Bull Racing team principal Laurent Mekies assures that the team's goal is to help Yuki regain his former speed.
Laurent Mekies: "Our priority is to give Yuki everything he needs to start delivering results again. That is our priority, and the team is focused on it.
We have been trying for multiple races to find a solution and a way for Yuki to take the next step. The Spa weekend went fairly well from that perspective. The Budapest event was generally challenging, so it’s difficult to draw conclusions based on its outcome.
But we believe there is no reason why Yuki can’t perform as he did in the past. Right now, we are focused on regaining his speed."
