Stroll dismisses speculation about quitting as Aston seeks to enhance with Newey.

Lance Stroll dismissed rumors that he sought his billionaire father Lawrence's permission to leave Formula 1. A well-known Brazilian commentator recently suggested that the Canadian made such a request both last year and this season, amidst ongoing mistakes and doubts about his drive and performance. "I’m not sure where that came from," Stroll mentioned at Monza. "I guess he just wanted to say something. There’s no plan to do that, and I have never wanted to." On the contrary, the 26-year-old Canadian emphasizes that he is excited about the future of Aston Martin. "There’s not much reason not to smile at the thought of Adrian Newey designing next year’s car. These are thrilling times," Stroll added.

Former Racing Bulls team principal Franz Tost believes the significance of Newey joining Silverstone cannot be overstated. "There are likely multiple reasons," he told Speed Week when discussing Red Bull’s potential decline in 2025. "However, the primary factor is certainly the departure of several key personnel. Adrian Newey is simply a genius. No one else in the pitlane possesses his level of experience, and he will demonstrate his expertise once again at Aston Martin."

Aston Martin has seen improvements this season, with Fernando Alonso attributing this to better utilization of their expanded headquarters. "I think having confidence in the tools we have at the factory and being able to deliver what was expected on track is obviously a very positive development. We didn’t have that in 2023 and 2024. So, it’s encouraging to return to a more standard factory-track correlation and develop the 2026 car next winter, knowing that the tools are effectively in place."
