French rookie Isack Hadjar expresses pride in being compared to Formula 1 icon Alain Prost. The 20-year-old driver for Racing Bulls has had a remarkable debut season, highlighted by a significant podium finish at Zandvoort recently. His performance has sparked credible speculation about a potential promotion to Red Bull Racing alongside Max Verstappen in 2026.
At the Red Bull Motormania festival held at Magny-Cours on Saturday, Hadjar discussed the 'Little Prost' nickname that has followed him since his early racing days. "It’s an honour," he told RMC Sport. "That’s four titles. He’s the greatest French driver in history, which is wonderful. Now, it’s not a burden at all. I’m increasingly communicating with Alain, and we’ve built a good relationship, so I’m truly honored."
Hadjar also reminisced about his landmark podium finish at the Dutch GP. "I didn’t feel much at the time," he confessed. "I was reflecting more on my entire journey from karting and all the challenges I faced before making it to Formula 1. For me, it really reached that level - it felt truly unachievable. Being there and having this podium so early in my career was somewhat hard to comprehend. It’s not just a dream – it’s a goal I set for myself. Now that I’ve achieved my first podium, it’s time to move forward."
Hadjar, who will turn 21 soon, is the youngest Frenchman to ever step on a Formula 1 podium.
