Kimi Antonelli acknowledges Toto Wolff's critique following the Monza race and is using it as encouragement to enhance his performance. When asked about Wolff describing his Italian GP showing as "underwhelming," the 19-year-old responded, "I think I understand his comment quite well.

"It was primarily about the race—I made an error at the start. I believe it was mainly focused on the race, which I agree wasn’t my best performance.

"However, I took it positively—as motivation to perform even better this weekend." Antonelli mentioned that a messy FP2 at Monza left him "blind" regarding long runs for Sunday. "First of all, my goal is to have clean sessions," he explained about his objectives for Baku.

"The main aim is to have clean sessions, complete as many laps as possible, and then execute well in qualifying and the race." With Mercedes shifting more attention toward 2026, Antonelli noted that other teams' upgrade efforts have tightened the midfield. "Many teams are introducing numerous upgrades," he remarked. "This requires us to be even more accurate and flawless in certain aspects.

"Every mistake made has significant consequences." Regarding Wolff's advice for this weekend, Antonelli summarized: "He simply wants me to have a clean weekend to regain the momentum I once had.

"I'm really excited about having clean weekends and reclaiming that momentum, which is what the team desires."
