Rain affected the first day of testing at Mugello.

On Thursday, Pirelli's two-day tests with two teams began at Mugello. On the first day, Haas drivers — Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman — worked on the Italian circuit. They drove last year's VF-24, modified to test 2026 tyre prototypes.

According to the engineers' plan, today was supposed to be devoted to testing the hardest compounds from the 2026 line-up, but due to rain the plans had to be adjusted. Esteban Ocon managed a best dry lap of 1:21.943 seconds (for comparison, Lewis Hamilton's 2020 pole time was 1:15.144 seconds), and in total the French driver completed 40 laps during his stint.

Then it began to rain, and Oliver Bearman was able to assess the intermediate tyre prototypes. The British driver completed 30 laps on the wet track with a best time of 1:34.381 seconds.

On Friday, Pirelli's tests at Mugello will continue with Ferrari. Charles Leclerc and Guanyu Zhou will drive the modified SF-25.
