REC: Season finale on October 4 at Moscow Raceway
On Saturday, October 4, the Russian Endurance Racing series (REC) concludes its 2025 season at the Moscow Raceway near Moscow.
A record number of drivers are entered for the final round, the Moscow Grand Prix. Forty-five crews in four classes plan to start the four-hour marathon.
The number of crews competing in REC 2025 increased from round to round. Eighteen crews will take the start in the GT Light class at the finale. This class features the largest number of drivers and crews in the series. Teams compete in cars with a specific power (kg/hp) of up to 250, predominantly BMW, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mini Cooper and VW.
The class leader is crew No.11 HOGO in a BMW, but the Mazda Karting Academy crew in a Mazda 3 trails by just 25 points. Crew No.53, whose car has the lowest specific power in the series, continues to contend for victory in the class thanks to consistent performances. The class win will be decided at the finale.
The GT and GT Pro classes are represented by twenty-two crews driving Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, BMW and Toyota Supra cars. Among them are prominent Russian racers and medalists of long international endurance races: Mikhail Aleshin, Alexey Nesov, Viktor Shaytar and others.
In the GT Pro Touring class five crews in Audi and Seat cars are fighting for positions in the class overall and among themselves. If entries in this class increase, the organizers do not rule out the creation of a new separate REC “Touring” class in 2026.
In the GT class (GT4 cars) the series victory will also be decided at the finale. In the standings crew No.1 SHISHKOIL&YUKA ADV PRO trails the leader, Capital Racing Team No.13, by only 15 points (both crews in Mercedes-AMG). Also in the top three is Team Garis No.34 in a Toyota Supra, 25 points behind the leader.
In the GT Pro class (GT3 cars) confident leadership is held by team Iskra Motorsport No.37. Behind them, with equal totals of 180 points and 60 points adrift of the leader, two crews are fighting: No.16 Yadro Motorsport and No.013 Capital Racing Team. The first crew fields Viktor Shaytar and Sergey Stolyarov; the second, Mikhail Aleshin and Denis Remenyako.
The CN Pro class is currently the smallest in the series, with seven sports prototypes entered, five of which will start the finale. However, this class poses the main competition to the GT3 cars (Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG) in the fight for the overall lead in the Moscow Grand Prix.
No.29 Team Garis is comfortably leading the class, and while crew No.29 in CN Pro is a clear contender for victory, in the individual standings the driver of the crew, Konstantin Tereshchenko, currently trails Mikhail Aleshin and Denis Remenyako (Capital RT No.013) by 10 points. Following Tereshchenko, another 10 points behind are his teammates in crew No.29, Konstantin Zakharievsky and Stanislav Sidoruk.
Igor Yermilin, founder of REC: “Such a large entry list guarantees an exciting contest. Endurance racing is decided by strategy and tactics, and contact fighting rarely produces results. It will be very interesting to see how the crews behave, as the Russian Endurance Racing series has not yet had such a promising finale.”
Spectator access opens at 12:30, race start at 15:00. The organizers advise coming to the race even if it rains, dressing warmly and bringing umbrellas. The circuit has covered grandstands and cafés.
An additional entertainment program is planned for fans at the circuit: the opportunity to walk onto the starting grid, stroll down the pit lane, ride the track in a race taxi or on a guided tour bus whose guide will talk about every corner and the whole history of Moscow Raceway. For young fans there is a free children’s room with a view of the starting grid.
