Lando Norris: I'm ready to repeat last year's victory.
Last year Lando Norris won the Singapore Grand Prix, and the British McLaren driver is now determined to repeat that success. His teammate Oscar Piastri, who crashed his car at the Baku round, hopes to make up for it this coming weekend.
Lando Norris: “I’m looking forward to racing under the lights in Singapore. It was great to return to Woking after the race in Baku, talk everything over with the team and work on the simulator.
I have good memories of Singapore after last year’s podium and victory. I’m ready to replicate that result.”
Oscar Piastri: “I’m really keen to get back behind the wheel. Given the air temperature in Singapore, our car should be quick, so I’m looking forward to the upcoming weekend.
In terms of distance, the Singapore race is the closest to Australia, so quite a lot of Australian fans come to it and they always support us at one of the best night races of the season. It’s great to have that extra support.”
Andrea Stella, team principal: “After a one-week break we’re heading to Singapore. At the Marina Bay circuit the team faces unique challenges, especially regarding human endurance, given the high humidity and the change in working hours due to the time of day. This applies both to team staff and to the drivers.
Recalling Lando’s win last year, it’s worth noting that Singapore requires a higher level of downforce than Baku, and the high tyre degradation in 2024 should better suit the characteristics of the MCL39.
The whole team, working at the track and at the Woking base, is determined to keep scoring points in both championships.”
