Lando Norris: Overall, I'm satisfied with the result.
The McLaren drivers finished 3rd and 4th in Singapore, and the points they scored were enough to secure their team the Constructors' Championship early, with six races to go in the season. However, the incident that occurred immediately after the start, when Lando Norris overtook Oscar Piastri and there was contact between their cars, clearly put the Australian in a bad mood.
Lando Norris (3rd): "I feel pretty good after the race, I can do the start again! (laughs) Of course the race was tough, and Max Verstappen didn't make a single mistake. Regardless of whether I felt good or bad, I gave it my all and was right behind his car.
I had some chances when I managed to get level with him, and then there were some interesting little duels, but it's too difficult to overtake because the pace was very high today. It's a shame, of course, because I would have liked to catch George and try to pressure him.
But overall I'm happy with today's result, since I managed to gain a couple of positions, and our team has won the Constructors' Championship again, which makes me very pleased.
Speaking about the incident on the first lap of the race, many parts of the track were still wet and slippery then. But that's racing. I took the inside line, and I had to correct the car's slide a little, but nothing more. It was just a good example of on-track racing."
Oscar Piastri (4th): "Clearly it was a difficult race, and the first lap didn't go well. I haven't yet seen the video footage and can judge what happened only from what I saw from the car. I need to look at that footage.
It's certainly a great evening for our whole team, but of course it's not how I expected to spend this race. However, for McLaren it was the culmination of all the hard work the team has carried out not only this year but over several years. So I'm proud of our whole team.
I don't think Lando deliberately made contact in that incident, but there was contact nonetheless, so I need to study the video and see exactly what happened. I'll have to draw conclusions after this weekend and understand in which areas we can improve."
