James Vowles: We won't see a repeat of 2014.
Next season Formula 1 will switch to next-generation power units. For several months there have been rumours in the press that Mercedes' engines already far outperform those of their rivals, and this could lead to a repeat of the 2014 dominance.
However, Williams team principal James Vowles believes this will not happen, since in reality the difference between the power units of different manufacturers will be smaller than in 2014.
James Vowles: "I don't think we'll see a repeat of 2014. I believe the gaps will be much smaller than they were then. I say this to dispel people's concerns.
We are already having an open dialogue on the subject of 'What if?' What if one of the power unit manufacturers turns out to be ahead of or behind the others? What will we do then?
We understand that Formula 1 is not only a sport, but also a competition in which everyone should perform at roughly the same level. So stay tuned."
