"They may even encounter unexpected issues."

Yuki Tsunoda faced travel difficulties once more, this time while attempting to enter the United States for this weekend’s US GP in Austin, Texas. As reported by Slovak journalist Stevo Eisele of Novasport, the Red Bull driver was briefly detained upon his arrival from Europe, reminiscent of a similar occurrence last year in Las Vegas, where he was held for over two hours due to inconsistencies with his immigration documents.

Eisele shared on social media, "A nice reminder that even F1 drivers typically wear casual attire, handle their own luggage, deal with jet lag, and still need to queue at passport control. They can even run into unexpected problems - which caused Yuki stress again this time." He mentioned that the Japanese driver was once again "pulled aside" after his 11-hour journey, although the specifics of the issue were not clear.

"Let’s hope this great enthusiast of good cuisine and Japanese anime won’t be turned away," Eisele added, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding the 25-year-old’s future in Formula 1. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko recently stated that decisions regarding the team’s driver line-up for 2026, including Tsunoda’s status, will be made after the upcoming Mexican GP.
