Crawford will replace Stroll in the first practice in Abu Dhabi.
Aston Martin announced a change to its lineup for the first practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The team's third driver, Jack Crowford, will replace Lance Stroll at the wheel of the AMR25. In addition, Jack will take part in the young driver tests at the Yas Marina Circuit after the end of the season.
For the American driver this will be his second experience participating in free practice. This season Crowford replaced Stroll in the first practice in Mexico.
Jack Crowford: “I’m very excited to get back behind the wheel of the AMR25 for the second time this season. This year I’ve spent a lot of time on the Aston Martin simulator, and it will be very useful to compare the car’s feel on a real track.
The event in Mexico was a great experience for me, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work in the first free practice session and in the young driver tests.”
Andy Cowell, team principal: “It’s great that soon after the session in Mexico we’ll see Jack back behind the wheel. Our goal in working with young drivers is precisely to give them experience and to keep up the momentum they’ve built.
The upcoming work in Abu Dhabi will be an important step, as Jack is preparing to become our third driver next year, and we’re happy to support his progress.”
