Crawford will replace Alonso in the first practice in Japan.
Aston Martin announced a change in the lineup for the first session of free practice at the Japanese Grand Prix. The team's third driver, Jack Crawford, will replace Fernando Alonso behind the wheel of the AMR25.
For the American driver, this will be his first experience in free practice this season and the third of his career. Last year, Crawford drove the Aston Martin during practice in Mexico and Abu Dhabi.
Jack Crawford: "I am very excited to get behind the wheel and represent the team in Suzuka. It’s a historic and challenging track, but I look forward to applying the knowledge gained in the simulator to real conditions. Huge thanks to the team for this opportunity.
As in previous practice sessions, I want to make the most of my time behind the wheel and learn as much as possible."
Mike Krack, Racing Director: "It's great that we can provide Jack with another opportunity to participate in the first practice as part of our ongoing talent development efforts. He has been working hard, especially on the simulator in Silverstone, and the upcoming sessions will help him gain valuable experience on a real track.
This is an important opportunity for him to continue progressing and also contribute to the team's work by gathering data and providing feedback."
