Pirelli summarized the weekend results.
During the race in Suzuka, the teams did not use Soft tires; almost everyone chose the same strategy and completed the distance with one pit stop. Dario Marrafruschi, director of Pirelli Motorsport: "All teams chose the same strategy, which was theoretically the fastest – Valtteri Bottas, who started on Hard, was the only driver to make a different choice. Obviously, no team wanted to take the risk with the softest compound at the start or on the final stint, although this option was quite viable due to low wear in the previous days. The use of C3 tires by Albon was clearly not dictated by strategic considerations, given the large number of his pit stops. The deployment of the safety car, triggered by Berman's crash, benefited those who did not attempt to 'undercut', including race winner Kimi Antonelli. We still believe that even without the safety car, the pit stop would have happened in the following laps. Our trip to Japan does not end here – on Tuesday and Wednesday, we will conduct two days of testing in Suzuka, working with slick tire prototypes for the next season. This time, the cars will be provided to us by Red Bull and Racing Bulls."
