NLS: A serious accident at the Nürburgring, the race has been stopped.
About half an hour after the start of today's NLS series race on the "North Loop" of the Nürburgring, it was halted for a long time by red flags, and the cars returned to the pit lane. This included the Mercedes-AMG GP3 in Red Bull colors, driven by Max Verstappen and his teammate Lukas Auer.
This occurred due to a serious accident involving seven cars at the Caracciola-Karussell corner, which completely blocked the track. There is currently no detailed information about the incident, only that several ambulances were sent to the scene. Additionally, the track's barriers were damaged, not just the vehicles, and repairing the safety barriers may take a considerable amount of time.
Max Verstappen has not yet taken the wheel, as the first segment of the race was to be driven by Auer, and at the time of the accident, car number 3 was indeed being piloted by the Austrian – he was in 9th position.
Since the race was stopped by red flags, quite a bit of time has passed, but the live broadcast from the Nürburgring has not yet resumed.
