WEC: Genesis is generally satisfied with the results of the debut race.

Last weekend in Imola, Genesis Magma Racing held its debut WEC race. Although the best of the hypercars from the factory team of the Korean conglomerate Hyundai finished second to last in its class, and the second car ended up at the back of the third dozen, Genesis still believes that many objectives were successfully achieved.

First of all, both GMR-001 sport prototypes reached the finish line of the "6 Hours of Imola," meaning that in terms of reliability, the new equipment was at a relatively normal level, although there were still issues with car number 19. Shortly after the start, a malfunction occurred in one of the numerous sensors, causing a loss of about half an hour before the fault could be rectified.

Cyril Abiteboul, head of Genesis Magma Racing Team: "The start is very promising, although, as newcomers, we did not set ourselves the goal of fighting for high results, but focused on aspects such as reliability, proper organization of work, and accumulating experience.

The qualification went according to our plans, but we felt real pressure for the first time. The race did not start well, as there was an electronics issue with car number 19, which had to be fixed in the pits.

However, crew number 17 enjoyed battling on the track with other cars... The main takeaway from this week is that we have laid a solid foundation, and our team has potential. I really hope that the Hyundai Motor Group is proud of its debut in this championship.

I am very pleased with the work done by the team, and now at the team base, we will conduct a detailed analysis of the collected information. But right now, we have achieved exactly the results we aimed for at the initial stage of the program."
