Bottas: We put the car on a diet, the chassis weight is already less.

Valtteri Bottas shared before the Miami Grand Prix that both the Cadillac team and he himself made good use of the April break in the championship. However, the adjustments made to the 2026 regulations are viewed quite cautiously by the Finnish driver.

Valtteri Bottas: "The break in the season was unexpected, but it is important for our team, and we tried to make improvements in everything we do to prepare for the Miami Grand Prix better than for the previous races. We made some progress in upgrading the car, but personally, I made the most of this pause and trained a lot.

Since I felt that I should be competing in some races, I rode my bike, participated in cycling competitions, and it was fun! In fact, time flew by very quickly, and I am glad that we finally made it to Miami.

Our car even looks different – it has a new livery, and although the color scheme hasn't changed, the overall design has become somewhat different. It looks cool, but we also prepared a number of technical innovations, including managing to reduce the weight of the chassis a bit. Overall, we put the car on a strict diet, and this will allow us to go faster than on the previous tracks. However, we still don't know how much our competitors have improved.

As for the amendments made to the regulations, I don't think they will lead to any noticeable changes, although there is a certain logic in all such changes. Ideally, we should see some minor improvements, but they won't be particularly significant.

The phenomenon of superclipping should manifest less, and let's hope that the speeds at which cars close in on the track will decrease, but I repeat, there won't be a significant difference for now. Let's wait for a couple of races, then it will be clearer what effect these amendments have."
