Formula 1 has extended its contract with Sky for one billion pounds.
The British channel Sky Sports F1 has been broadcasting Formula 1 since 2012, and according to the Daily Mail, a new agreement to purchase broadcasting rights was signed a few weeks ago. Sources from the publication report that Dana Strong, the CEO of Sky Group, successfully negotiated with the president and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali. The parties have agreed to show Formula 1 on Sky Group channels until 2034, with the contract valued at one billion pounds sterling. Stefano Domenicali: "Sky has always been a dedicated and reliable partner since the beginning of our collaboration many years ago. Their cutting-edge approach to live broadcasting, content creation, and behind-the-scenes analysis, conducted by truly amazing talents, has played a crucial role in the further development of our sport in the UK, Ireland, and Italy. I am pleased that our collaboration will continue in the next decade."
