Max and his team are preparing for the "24 Hours of Nürburgring."

      Max Verstappen and his team will debut in the "24 Hours of Nürburgring" this weekend, considered favorites, and we reported the day before that an unprecedented influx of spectators is expected at the race for this reason.

      Of course, in anticipation of this event, the four-time world champion is in a fighting spirit, but he and his teammates at Verstappen Racing – Lukas Auer, Jules Gounon, and Daniel Huncadella – fully understand that it won't be easy for them.

      "We tried to prepare as well as possible," Auto Bild quotes Max. "Speaking of our drivers, everything is good in this regard; we have a strong team. We just need to ensure that the car works well throughout the 24 hours."

      According to Verstappen, what worries him the most is how the so-called Balance of Performance (BoP) will affect the speed of their Mercedes-AMG GT3 – a set of measures through which the race organizers try to equalize the speed capabilities of different GT3 class cars, including controlling the power of their engines, weight, or ride height.

      It seems that Max's interest in endurance racing is becoming increasingly evident, and it is possible that the upcoming race at Nordschleife is just the beginning. The classic Belgian track will host the "24 Hours of Spa" marathon on the last weekend of June, and here's what the Red Bull Racing driver said about it:

      "If I were free on the weekend when the '24 Hours of Spa' takes place, I would participate in that marathon as well. When the opportunity arises to get behind the wheel of a racing car, I gladly take it."

      However, the Austrian Grand Prix, the home race for Red Bull Racing, is scheduled for the same dates, June 25-28, and, of course, for Verstappen, this is a priority. As for future plans, the racing division of Ford is already in talks with him about his possible participation in the "24 Hours of Le Mans," as the American team will debut in the Hypercar category of the World Endurance Championship in 2027.
