The next stage of reconstruction has been completed in Albert Park.

In Melbourne's Albert Park, a large-scale reconstruction project is in full swing, and the state agency Development Victoria has reported the completion of its next stage.

In particular, the dismantling of the Fangio Grandstand began ahead of schedule. When builders started demolishing the old pit building, which will be replaced by a modern complex, they decided to temporarily leave the grandstand, as it turned out to protect the nearby areas, including the Albert Park territory itself, from the noise inevitably associated with such work.

However, it was expected that this stage would continue until July, but the grandstand will be dismantled a month earlier, and the project is already moving into the next phase – builders will begin constructing the foundation for the new pit building.

This is an important stage in the comprehensive modernization of the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit's infrastructure, which has hosted the Australian Grand Prix since 1996, and it is necessary to carry out this work to meet the standards of modern Formula 1. Under the current contract with FOM, the race in Albert Park will take place at least until 2037.

The previous pit complex building, constructed more than thirty years ago, was the oldest and most cramped in the championship calendar. The reconstruction of the circuit is planned to be completed in about two years, and by the next season's race, a new pit building will be constructed, while the Paddock Club will be located in a temporary structure. By the Australian Grand Prix in 2028, the modernization of the circuit will be fully completed.
