Stellantis's $13 billion investment in the United States announced in October is merely the starting point. The automotive giant is on the defense and now ready to fight back.

On Thursday, Stellantis unveiled a new five-year strategic turnaround initiative called FaSTLAne 2030, which will require over $69 billion. This plan entails a comprehensive revamp of the company's extensive global product lineup, featuring over 60 new vehicles and 50 updates across all brands.

This initiative includes 29 electric vehicles, 15 plug-in hybrids or range-extended EVs, 24 hybrids, and 39 gasoline-powered models. As of now, there are no specifics on how these will be distributed among the brands.

In the U.S., Stellantis aims to increase market presence by 50% with 11 new vehicles and a 35% boost in production volume. It is reported that the lineups will include seven new products priced under $40,000 and two below $30,000. The U.S. sector will receive $41 billion in investment, accounting for 60% of the total global investment over the next five years.

Stellantis confirmed it now operates with four global brands: Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, and Fiat. As for Chrysler, Dodge, Citroen, Opel, and Alfa Romeo, they have been designated as regional brands.

The uncertain future of Maserati was clarified as a "pure luxury brand," with plans to introduce two new midsize vehicles to its range. A strategic roadmap for this historic brand is expected to be revealed in December.

Product development timelines are set to decrease from the current 40 months to just 24 months.

Over the next five years, Stellantis plans to invest more than $27 billion, or 40% of its total R&D and capital expenditures during this timeframe, into global platforms, powertrains, and technology.

On a global scale, the company will transition to a new modular multi-energy platform known as STLA One.

Stellantis will prioritize increased capacity utilization across regions due to its upcoming product launch strategy. While production capacity in Europe is projected to decrease by 80,000 units, factory utilization is anticipated to rise from 60% to 80% by 2030. In the United States, production is expected to grow, reaching an 80% capacity utilization rate by 2030.
