Komatsu: The FIA and Formula 1 should listen to the teams.

The issue of serious refinement of power units for the 2027 season is currently being actively discussed, with a change in the distribution of energy between the gasoline and electric parts to 60/40, which will inevitably lead to additional costs for the teams – an increase in fuel tank volume, changes to the cooling system, etc.

Haas F1 team principal Ayo Komatsu urges Formula 1 to approach the upcoming changes in regulations with caution…

Ayo Komatsu: “I would like the FIA and Formula 1 management to listen to the teams. If these amendments cost each team an additional five or ten million, then that is a misguided path. It is incredibly expensive. We will have to cut costs in other areas to find that money.

I do not welcome an increase in the budget size. This year, the limit has already been significantly raised. If there is another reason to raise it by two or five million, then that will no longer be a limitation.”
