Charles Leclerc and Ferrari extended the contract.
Before the home Grand Prix for Charles Leclerc, Ferrari announced the extension of his contract, and the Monegasque will continue to race for Scuderia in the coming years. The previous contract, signed in 2024, reportedly was valid until 2029. At 28 years old, Charles is already the second most experienced driver for Ferrari in Formula 1, ranking second in the number of poles, only behind Michael Schumacher.
Charles Leclerc: "I am happy to continue racing for Ferrari. For me, it is more than just a team. It is the team I dreamed of racing for since childhood; it has been a second family to me all these years. Together we have experienced victories and challenges, I believe in this team more than ever, and I am deeply grateful that we will continue to strive side by side towards our common goal – to bring the championship title back to Maranello.
Being a Ferrari driver is not just a dream, but also a responsibility. I will continue to give absolutely everything I have to bring this team back to where it belongs – at the very top, for everyone in Maranello and, above all, for the tifosi, whose passion is the pulse of Scuderia."
Frederic Vasseur, team principal: "Charles has been part of the Ferrari family for many years, and extending his contract was a completely natural step. Over the years, he has grown, becoming not only one of the strongest drivers in Formula 1 but also a person who has fully merged with the team; he now embodies Ferrari.
We value his talent and determination. We know how much this project means to him, and we are happy to continue working towards achieving our common goals."
