The weather in Monaco over the weekend in 2026 was stunning – sunny, dry, with not a cloud in sight. The sun-drenched Principality delighted with spectacular views in the early days of summer but lacked intrigue – everything was decided in qualifying this weekend, which teams were actively preparing for on Saturday morning.
The day before, Ferrari drivers showed the best time, with Lewis Hamilton being the first to hit the track in the third practice session. The drivers immediately started with the softest tires, working in short series of laps.
Cadillac faced brake issues again – Sergio Perez returned to the pits with a smoking front left wheel, while Bottas was braking only with the engine on his way back to the pits.
Stroll brushed the wall – and returned the car to the mechanics for inspection, having touched the barrier and Berman. Colapinto spun out in the hairpin of the sixth corner, hitting the barrier with his rear wheels and returned to the pits with a damaged rear wing.
At the 45th minute, Berman crashed the car. The session was stopped with red flags. Oliver exited the cockpit on his own, but the dangerous overload sensor was triggered, and a medical car came for him.
The protocol was led by Kimi Antonelli, who completed a lap in 1:12.720.
