Esteban Ocon: Let's see what happens tomorrow.
Both Haas F1 drivers were expecting more but dropped out of the fight in the first part of qualifying…
Esteban Ocon (17th): “The car was capable of making it to the second part of qualifying, maybe even to the final. It seems like I say this every time, but this time we really got unlucky.
On my fast lap, I already lost two tenths due to traffic, then the red flags came out, and that was it – we didn’t have time to warm up the tires, so I couldn’t go any faster.
It’s a shame it happened this way – the team and I managed to improve overnight from Friday to Saturday, but now we’ll never know what we were capable of. Let’s see what happens tomorrow.”
Oliver Berman (19th): “Our guys worked hard to fix the car after the third practice, and on the track, it behaved exactly as it should have.
I was unlucky in qualifying – I was setting a time that would have easily taken me to the second session when the red flags came out. When I went back out after the break, the car was sliding on the track. I was pushing to the limit, giving it my all, but there was just no grip.”
