The FIA will review the ADUO results after Red Bull's request.

The FIA will conduct an additional review of the results under the ADUO program after Red Bull requested clarification regarding the federation's conclusions, which state that its internal combustion engine is currently recognized as the benchmark in Formula 1. According to the federation's assessment, the Red Bull internal combustion engine has proven to be the best among all manufacturers. This means that the team is not entitled to modify its power unit this season. However, the most surprising fact is that according to FIA calculations, the Mercedes engine lags behind Red Bull by more than 2%, even though this team has won all the races held so far in 2026. As a result, the German manufacturer has received the right to one upgrade this season and another next season, as well as the opportunity to spend an additional three million dollars within budget constraints and additional hours of power unit testing on the stand. For its part, Red Bull hoped to use the ADUO mechanism to reduce the gap to Mercedes, so it turned to the FIA for clarification regarding the calculation methods and the results obtained. According to The Race, the FIA has agreed to re-examine the data from the first five stages of the season and verify the accuracy of the conclusions made. In particular, the federation intends to re-analyze information from power sensors installed on all cars. The FIA has been using these sensors since the beginning of the season to assess the performance of internal combustion engines. The mere fact of conducting an additional review does not mean that the conclusions regarding Red Bull will be changed. However, the FIA intends to ensure that the initial assessment was correct. The next checks under the ADUO program are scheduled after the Hungarian Grand Prix and the Mexican Grand Prix.
